Verdone Fig CL N15. A medium/high vigor tree with an upright growth habit, pentalobate leaves with narrow lobes and very pronounced sinuses. Production of conical cucurbiform fruits with a very long neck and woody peduncle from 09/25 until the first winter frosts, even after the leaves have fallen. The fruits weigh 50/70 gr., with a very thin skin that is wine-red at the beginning of ripening and reddish-green at the end, and firm red flesh that is very resistant to handling. It is very interesting for its storability and extremely late ripening period.

Ficus carica L. (Moraceae)

The cultivation of FIG is extremely interesting and current. The fruit, highly sought after in the market, commands high prices. The plant, typically Mediterranean, adapts well to dry climates and hilly soils, even poor and unirrigated. No pest control treatments are necessary, making the fruit 'organic'.

PRUNING: It is simple; fruit thinning is not performed.

DISTANCE: Planting spacing from 4x4 to 5x5. In most cases, there are two productions: the first fruits called FIORONI and the second called FORNITI or TRUE FIGS.
