Description
Bulbs of Red Garlic Gardos is a Spanish variety, disease-free and virus-free, with a medium-late cycle and a stem suitable for dry harvesting. Excellent storability. Free from garlic virus and nematodes.
Sowing rates/ha:
between 800 and 1000 kg per hectare. Sown from October to FebruaryPlanting distance:
12 cm in the row and 40 cm between rows for a density of about 200,000-220,000 plants/haEach bulb contains about 7-10 cloves depending on the variety (the red can have up to 14-15, but it is advisable to discard the smaller ones).
Production and Harvest:
Harvested from mid-June to July. Production from green 150-170 quintals/ha (remove 20% for dry)Tips:
Harvest garlic when the foliage has yellowed by about 2/3.For garlic to become dry, it takes about 15-20 days after harvesting fresh.
Variety with a stem, top the main stalk at the appearance of the inflorescence.
