Fruit plant Apice Piante KAKO VANIGLIA. A medium vigor variety that produces round-flattened fruits in October: at harvest, they have a yellow-orange skin that turns bronze at maturity. The quality of the flesh is good, with a very sweet flavor. Due to the abundant production of male flowers, the plant is also used as a pollinator. The fruits ripen in autumn.

Kaki - Diospyros
(Ebenaceae) It is also an ornamental tree. The orange fruits remain on the branches for a long time. Harvesting takes place from mid-October to early November. It is not demanding regarding soil type and exposure, preferring sheltered locations in northern areas. Young trees are sensitive to severe frosts. ‘Tipo-Loto di Romagna’: astringent at harvest, the fruits should be consumed after about a month, when soft and sweet. ‘Vaniglia’: sweet, non-astringent at harvest if pollinated, consumed firm. ‘Hana fuiju’: known as kaki apple, large, quadrangular, always edible (non-astringent) at harvest, consumed at the consistency of an apple.
