Description
Red Garlic variety Sultop, type "Improved Red of Sulmona", of Italian origin for transplanting. Vigorous plant, medium-late with a stem for dry harvesting. Excellent storability. Free from garlic virus and nematodes. Variety with a stem, top the main stalk upon the appearance of the inflorescence.

Sowing rates/ha:
between 8 and 10 quintals per hectare. Sown from October to FebruaryPlanting distance:
12 cm in-row and 40 cm between rows for an investment of about 200,000-220,000 plants/haEach bulb contains about 7-10 cloves depending on the variety (the red can have up to 14-15, but it is advisable to discard the smaller ones).
Production and Harvest:
Harvested from mid-June to July. Production from green 150-170 q.li/ha (remove 20% for dry)Advice:
Harvest garlic when the foliage is yellowed for about 2/3.For garlic to become dry, it takes about 15-20 days after harvesting fresh.
