Description

The new dwarf datterino, with berries weighing 15 g. An early, vigorous, very healthy, and productive plant. The small elongated fruits are sweet, perfect for high-quality sauces. Naturally resistant to viruses and common root diseases.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and whether grown in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Choose full sun; in summer, a light shade during the hottest hours is beneficial. Optimal growth at 20–24 °C; protect early transplants from the cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile and well-draining soil, preferably with a pH of 6–7. Transplant from March, under protection, to August, depending on the climate. Generally space 40–50 cm apart in the row and 100 cm between rows; for sauce varieties, also 30 cm in the row.

Watering

Water regularly at the base, allowing the surface to dry between waterings. Increase water during flowering and fruit swelling; avoid waterlogging and sudden shifts from drought to heavy watering.

Fertilization

Incorporate mature organic matter before transplanting. Distribute nutrients throughout the cycle, emphasizing potassium during production and avoiding excess nitrogen.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch and maintain the suckers: in dwarf tomatoes, they should not be removed. Harvest according to the variety and use; for sauce, prefer well-ripened fruits.
