Growing Tips
Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.
Exposure and Temperature
Full sun. Favorable growth at 15–20 °C; protect from cold, as temperatures close to zero can damage it.
Soil and Transplanting
Fertile, cool, and well-draining soil, preferably pH 6.5–7. Generally 15–20 cm in the row and 50 cm between rows. Transplanting from August to October depending on the area; earlier in high hills and mountains.
Watering
Maintain regular moisture without waterlogging, with small frequent applications during establishment. Reduce interventions during cooler periods, adapting them to rainfall.
Fertilization
Moderate initial fertilization with organic matter; repeat applications if growth is insufficient.
Care and Harvesting
Weed and protect with non-woven fabric during cooler periods. Harvest the broccoletti frequently before the buds open, cutting them with tender leaves and 10–15 cm of stem. Leave the plant to collect subsequent shoots.
