Description

Exclusive variety with excellent flavor, naturally resistant to Downy Mildew. The fruits can exceed 250 g and have a pinkish-red color. They are less sensitive to skin yellowing during hot periods. The flesh is firm and sweet, with low acidity. Great in salads. It resists common root diseases and is the most resistant in the range to Downy Mildew.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Choose full sun; in summer, light shading during the hottest hours is helpful. Optimal growth at 20–24 °C; protect early transplants from the cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile and draining soil, preferably pH 6–7. Transplant from March, under protection, to August, depending on the climate. Generally space 40–50 cm in the row and 100 cm between rows; for sauce varieties, also 30 cm in the row.

Watering

Water regularly at the base, allowing the surface to dry between interventions. Increase water during flowering and fruit swelling; avoid waterlogging and sudden shifts from drought to heavy watering.

Fertilization

Incorporate mature organic matter before transplanting. Distribute nutrients throughout the cycle, emphasizing potassium during production and avoiding excess nitrogen.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch. For stake tomatoes, provide supports and periodically remove suckers; for bush varieties, do not remove them. Harvest according to the variety and use: for sauce, prefer well-ripened fruits. Cut the stem if detaching risks damaging the plant.
