Description

One of the most established varieties in the professional market for winter harvest, it is cultivated from July to August. Harvested approximately 160 days after transplanting. Late maturation. Exceptional quality of the flower, compact with a beautiful pure white color, well protected by the foliage. Weight of 1.6 kg. Harvested in February, excellent frost resistance.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Full sun. Favorable growth at 18–25 °C; heat and temperature trends influence flower formation. Protect early transplants from the cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile, cool, and well-draining soil, preferably pH 6.5–7. Generally 40–50 cm in-row and 50–70 cm between rows, widening for vigorous varieties. Respect the variety's timing; different cycles allow for staggered autumn and winter harvests.

Irrigation

Maintain regular moisture without waterlogging. After transplanting, use moderate and frequent watering; increase water availability during flower swelling.

Fertilization

Rich initial fertilization and balanced nutrition; avoid excess nitrogen that delays maturation.

Care and Harvesting

Shallow hoeing and using non-woven fabric to limit stress after transplanting. Check the heart before the expected harvest date. Cut at the base of the flower, leaving some protective leaves; after harvesting, the plant can be uprooted.
