Description

Seedless Long Eggplant Black Stream: innovation and superior quality

The Seedless Long Eggplant Black Stream is an innovative variety distinguished by its seedless nature, thanks to its ability to produce fruit parthenocarpically, without the need for pollinators. This gives it a consistently soft flesh that ages slowly, maintaining its organoleptic qualities for a long time.

The fruits are dark purple in color, elongated or oval-shaped, with a spine-free purple calyx. They weigh between 90-150 grams, perfect for single servings or refined preparations.

Why choose the Black Stream Eggplant

  • Seedless: consistently soft flesh and superior quality
  • Parthenocarpic production: does not require pollinators
  • Long-lasting quality: maintains organoleptic properties for a long time
  • Very early cycle: early harvests
  • Spine-free calyx: easy to handle
  • Grafted plant: greater vigor and resistance

Growing characteristics

Exposure: Sun / Partial shade
Plants that receive about 6 hours of direct light per day, preferably in the morning. These areas are suitable for plants that do not require full sun but still need light, with exposures to the northeast or northwest, offering a balance between light and shade throughout the day. The exposure indicates how many hours of direct sunlight the plant needs for optimal growth. It can be full sun, partial shade, or shade, depending on the amount of natural light the plant needs to thrive and produce fruit. This information helps position the plants to encourage their growth.

Harvest time: 45 days
The harvest time indicates how many days it takes for the fruit to be ready for picking (note: ripening may occur at different times than indicated, influenced by climatic factors, irrigation, and soil fertility).

Transplant distance: 50x100
The transplant distance is the space between plants at the time of planting, both in the row and between rows. A proper distance avoids competition for light and nutrients, promoting growth and production, while spaces that are too tight or too wide can negatively affect the quantity and quality of the fruits.

Weight: 120 g
Indicates the average weight of the fruits harvested under normal growing conditions. This value may vary depending on factors such as the harvest phase, fertilization practices, and climatic conditions. In the early harvests, the weight may be lower than the indicated values. Additionally, conditions such as drought, water shortages, temperature fluctuations, and poor or excessive nitrogen fertilization can affect fruit growth, which may be above or below expectations.

Tips for optimal cultivation

The plant has a less upright and more spreading habit compared to other elongated eggplants. To achieve the best results:

  • Generously fertilize with organic matter before transplanting and during cultivation to support good productive potential
  • Remove the first fruits formed by the plant to allow it to establish properly
  • Remove any suckers originating at the base of the stem
