Exposure and Temperature
Full sun or partial shade; in small pots during summer, avoid the hottest sun. Growth is favored at 15–26 °C; protect flowering from cold snaps.
Soil and Transplanting
Rich, well-draining soil with a pH of 5.5–7. Keep the crown visible, without burying it. Single row: 30 cm in-row and 100 cm between rows. Prefer spring for ever-bearing and late summer for June-bearing varieties.
Watering
Keep the soil moist, never soggy. Drip irrigation is useful to avoid wetting leaves and fruits. For summer transplants, use small, frequent waterings until established.
Fertilization
Apply split and not overly concentrated fertilizers: strawberries are sensitive to salinity. Potassium is important after fruit formation.
Care and Harvesting
Mulch and shade new summer transplants. June-bearing: spring harvest; ever-bearing: prolonged production. Harvest ripe fruits frequently, depending on temperature and variety.
