Description

Yellow Marmande Tomato var. Ananas F1 is an ancient variety, with a medium vigorous plant that is highly productive.

The yellow berries are ribbed and flattened, weighing 150 grams, with soft flesh and thin skin. The flavor is very delicate. The plant is compact, with leaves that have a characteristic 'rolled' appearance.

It has excellent tolerance to blossom end rot. If larger berries are desired, it is possible to thin the growing clusters, leaving only 5 fruits per truss.

It is suitable for cultivation in open fields, greenhouses, and pots. In the kitchen, it is ideal for salads and sauces.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Choose full sun; in summer, light shading during the central hours is helpful. Optimal growth at 20–24 °C; protect early transplants from the cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile and draining soil, preferably pH 6–7. Transplanting from March, under protection, to August, depending on the climate. Generally space 40–50 cm in the row and 100 cm between rows; for sauce varieties, even 30 cm in the row.

Watering

Water regularly at the base, allowing the surface to dry between interventions. Increase water during flowering and fruit swelling; avoid waterlogging and sudden shifts from drought to heavy watering.

Fertilization

Incorporate mature organic matter before transplanting. Distribute nutrients throughout the cycle, emphasizing potassium in production and avoiding excess nitrogen.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch. For stake tomatoes, provide supports and periodically remove suckers; for dwarf varieties, do not remove them. Harvest according to the variety and use: for sauce, prefer well-ripened fruits. Cut the stem if detaching risks damaging the plant.

Precautions for Grafted Plants

For grafted formats, keep the grafting point above the soil and remove any shoots growing from the rootstock. Adapt supports and space to the greater vigor.
