Description
Description
The cultivation of grafted plants has several advantages:
- Increases the vigor and yield of the plant.
- The excellent root system provides better performance and a superior size of the fruits.
- Improves the plants' resistance to low temperatures.
- Enhances the plants' resistance to diseases and pests.
- Grafted plants produce more and for a longer time.
- Particularly suitable for those with limited space.
Cultivation:
- Transplant from March (in a sheltered location) until the end of June.
- At a distance of 30 cm. in the row and 60 cm. between rows.
- Water abundantly at transplanting, then provide consistent, moderate irrigation.
- Do not fertilize until the first fruits have started to swell.
- It is necessary to remove the lateral shoots (suckers) that develop at the base of the leaves.
- Fruit rot is caused by a lack of calcium and water imbalances: water better and provide calcium.
Important: Transplant away from potato tubers.
Bio Tip: Plant nasturtium, marigold, and also basil near tomato plants; they protect against aphids and some pests while keeping the soil cool.
Rich in vitamin C, lycopene, calcium, potassium, and fiber.
