Bigarreau Napoleon Cherry in a 24 cm pot. Very large, bright red fruits. Firm and sweet flesh. Ripens in early May.
Pot Diameter: 24 cm
Bigarreau Napoleon Cherry Productive in all regions. Grows in all soils except clayey and overly wet ones.
PRUNING: Should be done every year at the end of winter before bud break, limited to balancing the vegetation and thinning the center of the tree. Avoid removing thick branches. A light summer pruning in June is also recommended, exclusively removing the most vigorous suckers that have grown in the upper and inner parts of the tree. Planting distance from 5x4 to 6x6.
POLLINATION: Non-self-fertile cherry varieties require pollinator varieties nearby to fruit properly.
Pest control treatments
Monilia: affects during flowering and fruit set and near ripening. The use of products containing “triforine” or “benzamidazoles” or “copper-based” can help.
Coryneum and Anthracnose: manifests with perforated leaves; it is very concerning for early leaf drop, and therefore defense should be applied every year at the start of vegetative growth and after 15 days with products based on Tiram or Dodine.
Scale insects and Aphids.
