Description

Camone Yup F1 Tomato (5th Flavor)

Orto Mio — 6 plants. Yup F1 is an early Camone type tomato, with a sweet and tangy flavor and crunchy flesh. The plant is vigorous and can be grown outdoors or in a greenhouse. The fruits are suitable for salads.

Variety Characteristics

  • Exposure: Sun
  • Indicative harvest from transplant: 55 days
  • Transplant distance: 40 × 100 cm
  • Weight: 50 g

Times, weights, and sizes are indicative and vary with climate and cultivation. The plant received may have sizes and development different from the photo; the same development is not guaranteed.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Choose full sun; in summer, light shading during the hottest hours is helpful. Optimal growth at 20–24 °C; protect early transplants from cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile and draining soil, preferably pH 6–7. Transplant from March, under protection, to August, depending on the climate. Generally space 40–50 cm in-row and 100 cm between rows; for sauce varieties, also 30 cm in-row.

Watering

Water regularly at the base, allowing the surface to dry between interventions. Increase water during flowering and fruit swelling; avoid waterlogging and sudden shifts from drought to heavy watering.

Fertilization

Incorporate mature organic matter before transplanting. Distribute nutrients throughout the cycle, emphasizing potassium during production and avoiding excess nitrogen.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch. For stake tomatoes, provide supports and periodically remove suckers; for bush types, do not remove them. Harvest according to the variety and use: for sauce, prefer well-ripened fruits. Cut the stem if detachment risks damaging the plant.
