Sowing: FEBRUARY - APRIL
Sowing capers is not simple, but the low germination rate of the seeds increases if sowing is done in the winter months.
In this case, sow in pots or trays mixing the soil with peat and sand, leave outdoors during the summer, and keep covered in autumn-winter. The following spring, they can be transplanted directly into the ground. Capers do not tolerate water stagnation, so ensure proper drainage.
Harvest: MAY - SEPTEMBER
You can also try sowing directly in the crevices of well-sunlit dry walls in autumn. To increase the germination rate, it is advisable to place the seeds in a handful of moss that will protect the seed during winter and keep it moist. The seedlings will emerge around May-June.
