Growing Tips
Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.
Exposure and Soil
Sun or partial shade, with light summer shading. Fertile, cool, and well-draining soil, preferably pH 6–7.
Transplanting
From February to August, generally 10 cm in-row and 30 cm between rows.
Watering
Keep the soil moist; intervene especially in summer and during dry periods, avoiding waterlogging.
Fertilization
Organic matter in autumn–winter; repeat in spring if growth is insufficient.
Care and Harvesting
In very cold areas, protect the soil with winter mulch. Harvest by cutting the stems close to the ground: frequent cutting encourages the use of leaves before flowering.
