Citrino digestible horn pepper variety Blanque F1, originating from Eastern Europe; since the early 20th century, it has spread in northern Italy, known as "Bianco piacentino".
It is the main ingredient of the traditional compote, typical of the Piacenza area. It has a good thickness flesh with a delicate taste.
It is harvested in a citrine yellow color; if left on the plant to ripen, it turns red-orange.
Blanque is naturally resistant to TSWV viruses. In the kitchen, it is ideal for compotes, grilled, and is also highly appreciated raw in salads, as the flavor does not overpower.
