Il consiglio dell'ortolano
Eliminate dry cracks in the soil and water generously in the summer.

Description

New variety that does not require support stakes. The plant is healthy and very generous, producing fruits over 80 g. Harvesting continues until the first cold of October-November, and the still green fruits can be ripened indoors. It is resistant to many root, leaf diseases, and viruses.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Choose full sun; in summer, a light shade during the central hours is beneficial. Optimal growth at 20–24 °C; protect early transplants from the cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile and well-draining soil, preferably pH 6–7. Transplanting from March, under protection, to August, depending on the climate. Generally space 40–50 cm apart in the row and 100 cm between rows; for sauce varieties, even 30 cm in the row.

Watering

Water regularly at the base, allowing the surface to dry between waterings. Increase water during flowering and fruit swelling; avoid waterlogging and sudden shifts from drought to heavy watering.

Fertilization

Incorporate mature organic matter before transplanting. Distribute nutrients throughout the cycle, emphasizing potassium during production and avoiding excess nitrogen.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch and maintain the suckers: do not remove them from dwarf tomatoes. Harvest according to the variety and use; for sauce, prefer well-ripened fruits.
