Growing Tips

Exposure and Temperature

Full sun or partial shade; in small pots during summer, avoid the hottest sun. Growth is favored at 15–26 °C; protect flowering from cold snaps.

Soil and Transplanting

Rich organic matter and well-draining soil, pH 5.5–7. Keep the crown visible, do not bury it. Simple row planting: 30 cm within the row and 100 cm between rows. Prefer spring for everbearing varieties and late summer for June-bearing.

Watering

Keep the soil moist, never soggy. Drip irrigation is useful to avoid wetting leaves and fruits. For summer transplants, use small frequent waterings until establishment.

Fertilization

Fertilizer applications should be split and not too concentrated: strawberries are sensitive to salinity. Potassium is important after fruit formation.
