Description

Ever-bearing Charlotte strawberry, a premium variety. Produces medium-sized fruits with a delicious flavor: fragrant and sweet like wild strawberries. Highly productive, it matures about 70 days after transplanting.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Full sun or partial shade; in small pots during summer, avoid the hottest sun. Growth is favored at 15–26 °C; protect flowering from cold snaps.

Soil and Transplanting

Rich, organic matter, well-draining soil, pH 5.5–7. Keep the crown visible, do not bury it. Single row: 30 cm in-row and 100 cm between rows. Prefer spring for ever-bearing and late summer for June-bearing varieties.

Watering

Keep the soil cool, never soggy. Drip irrigation is useful to avoid wetting leaves and fruits. For summer transplants, use small, frequent waterings until established.

Fertilization

Apply split and not overly concentrated fertilizers: strawberries are sensitive to salinity. Potassium is important after fruit formation.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch and shade new summer transplants. June-bearing: spring harvest; ever-bearing: prolonged production. Harvest ripe fruits frequently, depending on temperature and variety.
