The Fuji Apple is a variety originating from Japan, with a round shape, light red skin typically striped on a yellow background. The flesh is white, crisp, and juicy, with an extremely sweet and aromatic flavor. It stores well and requires minimal treatments. Harvesting occurs in mid-October.
(Rosaceae) Hardy, it adapts to various environments, including mountainous areas. The plant can be trained in both upright forms: pot, spindle, column, etc.; and in flattened shapes: various types of fan training.
Pruning:
Pruning varies according to the training method; in any case, care should be taken to remove the water sprouts located in the upper part of the canopy to allow for good development of the lower vegetation and ensure an appropriate number of flowering buds. A light summer pruning in June is also recommended.
Thinning:
Planting distance should be from 5x3 to 4x4 for upright forms, and from 4x1 to 5x3 for flattened forms. The flowering is late, so it is advisable to plant multiple varieties to improve productivity.
