Description

Beautiful late-cycle variety for winter harvest. Very vigorous and healthy plant. Light green leaves with a semi-bumpy surface. Grows from July to October. Harvested about 100 days after transplanting. Heads weighing 2/4 kg and more. Exceptional resistance to overripening and great tolerance to low temperatures.
Transplant from May to November

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Prefer full sun. Favorable growth at 15–22 °C; heat and frost resistance varies among cultivars, with greater tolerance in late winter varieties.

Soil and Transplanting

Fertile and well-draining soil, pH 6–7. General spacing 35–50 cm in the row and 50–70 cm between rows. For autumn harvest, transplant during the summer window of your area and use varieties with different cycles.

Watering

Keep the soil moist without waterlogging; increase watering when the head swells. Adjust frequency and amount to climate and soil conditions.

Fertilization

Generous initial nutrition, with organic matter and balanced fertilizer. Correct any deficiencies without excess nitrogen.

Care and Harvesting

Shallow hoeing; use non-woven fabric after transplanting or in cold weather. Harvest when the head is full and compact, cutting below the bulb. Do not delay excessively, especially in early varieties, to limit splitting.
