Description
The "Priest's Hat" Mantovana pumpkin is an ancient excellence from the Po Valley, historically cultivated in the territories of Mantova and Reggio Emilia, but also found in the countryside of Parma, Piacenza, Pavia, and Alessandria. It has a "turban" shape, consisting of two lobes. Weight of 2-4 kg.
The flesh is orange, firm, and dry, with low fiber content, perfect for filling tortelli and for lasagna, risotto, and gnocchi.
Also excellent for mustards, sauces, and oil preserves. A vigorous plant with long tendrils that grow horizontally. It is harvested when at least 50% of the fruit's stem is lignified.
Can be stored for over 10 months under optimal conditions.
