Description

Mini Sweet Red Snack Pepper

Orto Mio — 1 plant in a 10 cm pot. A mini sweet pepper plant with red fruits. The sold format is a single plant of the indicated color, not an assortment of the three colors. Mini peppers have few seeds and can be used fresh, as a snack, for appetizers, or stuffed. Cultivation is also possible in pots.

Indicative image: the plant received may have different sizes and development. The same development as in the photo is not guaranteed.

Growing Tips

Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.

Exposure and Temperature

Full sun, with light shading during the hottest summer hours. Favorable temperatures of 16–27 °C; protect transplants from the cold.

Soil and Transplanting

Very fertile and well-draining soil, preferably pH 6–7. Raise the beds in clay soils. Transplant from March, protected, to June depending on the climate; normally 40–50 cm in-row and 100 cm between rows.

Watering

Maintain regular moisture; increase water with heat and production without creating stagnation. Avoid deficiencies during berry swelling. Drip irrigation is recommended.

Fertilization

Incorporate mature organic matter 2–3 weeks before transplanting; continue with split nutrition during the cycle, approximately every three weeks.

Care and Harvesting

Mulch and tie the stem to a support when it exceeds 30 cm; also support heavy branches. Remove the first fruits until the plant strengthens. Harvest when green or at the mature color of the variety, cutting the peduncle with shears.
