Description
Moscato d'Amburgo grape vine features a medium, pyramidal, elongated, winged, loose cluster, with a berry size of 7-8%. The berry is medium-sized, oval-shaped, dark purple-black in color, with a very waxy, relatively thin but resilient skin, and an intense dark purple hue; the flesh is quite soft, sweet, juicy with a pleasant muscat flavor. Ripening: 1st decade of September.

Originating from England where it is called "Black of Alexandria", where it was grown in greenhouses, it spread first to France and later to numerous wine-producing countries; a prized variety known for a long time. It is a vine with good vigor and productivity, well-suited for pergola training systems. It requires short pruning; otherwise, it may exhibit the phenomenon of sweet berry formation. The grapes do not always ripen uniformly, and the berries can sometimes be very irregular in size. The grapes hold reasonably well on the vine but do not withstand long journeys.
