Sun, with partial shade during hot summer hours. Growth is favored at 15–25 °C; heat and cold tolerance depend on the variety.
Soil and Transplanting
Fertile and draining soil, pH 6–7. Generally 20–25 cm in-row and 40 cm between rows. In the cubes, leave at least one-third of the root ball above the soil. Choose varieties suitable for the season; transplanting every 10–15 days allows for staggered harvests.
Watering
Keep the soil moist without waterlogging, allowing the surface to dry. Increase frequency in the heat; near harvest, water at the base, avoiding the foliage.
