Description
Description
Superaguadulce Broad Bean, the most prized and appreciated variety of broad bean available on the market. It has an early cycle. A vigorous plant that produces very long pods, each containing 8-9 seeds, with a unique flavor thanks to the sweetness and tenderness of the seeds. The yield is very abundant and staggered. Irrigation is recommended only in case of drought. Very easy to cultivate.
Growing Tips
Orto Mio guidelines for the species, to be adapted to the variety, local climate, and cultivation in soil or pots.
Exposure and Soil
Full sun or partial shade; growth favored at 15–20 °C. Preferably medium-textured soil, pH 6.5–8.5. Heat limits flowering.
Transplanting
From October to April, generally 15 cm apart in the row and 50 cm between rows. Protect early transplants when necessary.
Irrigation
Regular with moderate amounts; avoid waterlogging and deficiencies, especially during flowering and pod setting.
Fertilization
Modest contributions before transplanting, with organic matter and a balanced fertilizer rich in phosphorus.
Care and Harvesting
Weed and mound after about thirty days for stability. Use supports in windy areas. Harvest in spring according to timing and area, when the pods are developed and the seeds are still tender.
