Trieste Sugarloaf Chicory and Radicchio - 9 Plants - Orto Mio

Trieste sugarloaf chicory is a delicious cutting radicchio, tender and sweet when harvested very young, at 5/7 cm in height. It acquires a pleasantly bitter flavor (for those who enjoy it) if allowed to grow and thus “age” more. Transplant the seedlings without separating them, placing 4-8 packs side by side to form a row. It can also be grown on a balcony, in 50 cm geranium boxes, using 4 packs per box. After filling the pots with good quality soil, transplant the seedlings by partially burying the cubes. Water 2-4 times a week depending on external temperatures and light levels. Cut leaving 3 cm of stem to encourage rapid regrowth. Up to 8-10 repeated cuts are possible every 7-15 days.
Transplanting is done from February to October
