Sowing rates/ha:
between 8 and 10 quintals per hectare. Sown from October to March.
Planting distance:
12 cm in the row and 40 cm between rows for an investment of about 200,000-220,000 plants/ha
Each bulb contains about 7-10 cloves depending on the variety (the red can have up to 14-15, but it is recommended to discard the smaller ones).
Production and Harvest:
Harvested from mid-June to July. Production from green 150-170 q.li/ha (remove 20% for dry)
Tips:
Harvest garlic when the foliage has yellowed for about 2/3.
For garlic to become dry, it takes about 15-20 days after harvesting fresh.
Variety with stalk, top the main stem upon the appearance of the inflorescence.
