Mandarin Clementine - v. 24 cm - Top Plants

The Clementine Mandarancio is cold-resistant up to -5°C. Compact vegetation. The fruits are small oranges that ripen in autumn. The skin is very thin and their pulp is very juicy. Fragrant white flowers in spring. Very similar to the Mandarin, but the fruits have no seeds.

These trees cannot be grown in open ground outside of temperate and mild climate zones. However, they are particularly suitable for growing in flowerbeds. They are excellent ornamental plants thanks to their beautiful persistent foliage, intense green glossy and opaque underneath. Slow growing, they require little pruning to eliminate badly arranged branches.

For planting in flowerpots, prepare a mixture of 1/3 garden soil, 1/3 peat and 1/3 potting soil, which, on a bed of gravel at the bottom of the flowerpot, will ensure drainage. During the growing season, watering is necessary. Twice a month, the addition of an appropriate fertilizer will be sufficient.

During the warm season, a sheltered, half-sunny position is best, avoid permanent shade. In winter, the plants should be placed in a bright room, protected from frost, but not too hot (15°C maximum). A light watering twice a month will be sufficient.
