Cultivation characteristics
Exposure: Sun / Partial shade
Plants that receive approximately 6 hours of direct light per day, preferably in the morning. These areas are suitable for plants that do not require maximum sun, but still need light, with northeast or northwest exposures, offering a balance between light and shade during the day. Exposure indicates how many hours of direct sun are necessary for the plant for optimal growth. It can be full sun, partial shade, or shade, depending on the amount of natural light the plant needs to grow well and produce fruit. This information helps in positioning plants to promote their growth.
Harvest time: 50-65 days
Harvest time indicates how many days it takes for the fruit to be ready for harvest (note: maturation may occur at different times than indicated, influenced by climatic factors, irrigation, and soil fertility).
Transplant distance: 40x100
Transplant distance is the space between plants at the time of planting, both in the row and between rows. Correct spacing avoids competition for light and nutrients, promoting growth and production, while spaces that are too narrow or too wide can negatively affect the quantity and quality of the fruits.
Weight: 300 g
Indicates the average weight of fruits harvested under normal cultivation conditions. This value may vary depending on factors such as the harvest stage, fertilization and irrigation practices, and climatic conditions. In the first harvests, the weight may be lower than the indicated values. Furthermore, conditions such as drought, water scarcity, temperature fluctuations, poor or excessive nitrogen fertilization influence fruit growth, which can be higher or lower than expected.
Cultivation tips
The plant is very healthy and vigorous and loves high temperatures, with transplants recommended from May onwards. Seta is among the most drought-tolerant eggplants and on many occasions has shown reduced sensitivity to spider mites.
Note on storage: to be consumed within a few days after harvesting because it does not keep long in the refrigerator.
