"Guarda in cielo" Paesanello Pepper plants, an ancient variety of sweet pepper mainly used dried.
Typical of the Abruzzo region, the fruits have a characteristic "upward" growth habit, which earned them the name "guarda in cielo" (looks to the sky).
Measuring 10-12 cm long, with an elongated conical shape, it is harvested when it turns deep red, to be dried in traditional strings.
After air drying, the drying process is completed in a ventilated oven at low temperatures.
Then it can be ground into powder or crumbled when used, as a seasoning for many dishes.
The plant is vigorous yet compact and is known for its excellent yield. It can be grown both in greenhouses and in open fields.
