Description

Mini Butternut Squash: sweetness and versatility in a compact size

The Mini Butternut Squash is a small squash weighing 1-2 kg, very uniform, with orange, firm, dry, and sweet flesh. Perfect for those looking for a manageable-sized squash but with all the organoleptic qualities of the best butternut varieties.

When ripe, the skin turns a dull hazelnut color, indicating that the squash is ready to be harvested and stored.

Why choose this squash

  • Sweet orange flesh, firm and dry, ideal for any preparation
  • Compact size of 1-2 kg, perfect for home use
  • High yield: 4-6 fruits per plant
  • Easy to grow with high yield even in the hottest months
  • Excellent shelf life for long-lasting supplies
  • Versatile in the kitchen: soups, risottos, fillings and much more

Cultivation characteristics

Exposure: Sun / Partial shade
Plants receive about 6 hours of direct light per day, preferably in the morning. These areas are suitable for plants that do not require maximum sun, but still need light, with northeast or northwest exposures, offering a balance between light and shade during the day. Exposure indicates how many hours of direct sun are necessary for the plant for optimal growth. It can be full sun, partial shade or shade, depending on the amount of natural light the plant needs to develop well and produce fruit. This information helps to position the plants to promote their growth.

Harvest time: 90 days
Harvest time indicates how many days it takes for the fruit to be ready for harvest (note: ripening may occur at different times than indicated, influenced by climatic factors, irrigation and soil fertility).

Transplant distance: 150x200
Transplant distance is the space between plants at the time of planting, both in the row and between rows. Correct spacing avoids competition for light and nutrients, promoting growth and production, while spaces that are too narrow or too wide can negatively affect the quantity and quality of the fruits.

Weight: 2 kg
Indicates the average weight of fruits harvested under normal growing conditions. This value may vary depending on factors such as the harvesting phase, fertilization and irrigation practices, and climatic conditions. In early harvests, the weight may be lower than the indicated values. Furthermore, conditions such as drought, lack of water, temperature fluctuations, poor or excessive nitrogen fertilization affect fruit growth, which may be higher or lower than expected.

Easy and productive cultivation

The Butternut Squash has a vigorous and healthy plant with an early cycle, and is among the easiest squashes to grow. It is able to guarantee a high productive yield even in the hottest months, making it ideal for both experienced and beginner gardeners.
