Description
Description
The Blue Datterino Tomato (stake tomato) (Candy F1 variety) is a surprising new variety, with color tones that range from violet during growth, to almost black, to an elegant dark blue with large red areas when ripe. The flavor is sweet and the size is small, from 10 to 15 grams. It can be cultivated in greenhouses and open fields. Candy is resistant to TSWV, TYLCV viruses, as well as powdery mildew, leaf spot, nematodes, and common soil diseases. During cultivation, avoid sudden changes in water supply to limit the risk of cracking.
Cultivation characteristics:
Exposure: Full Sun
Plants that prefer full sun require a south-facing exposure, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, even during the 3-4 central summer hours. Exposure indicates how many hours of direct sun are necessary for optimal plant growth. It can be full sun, partial shade, or shade, depending on the amount of natural light the plant needs to develop well and produce fruit.
Harvest time: 60 days
Harvest time indicates how many days it takes for the fruit to be ready for harvest (note: ripening may occur at different times than indicated, influenced by climatic factors, irrigation, and soil fertility).
Transplant distance: 50x100 cm
Transplant distance is the space between plants at the time of planting, both in the row and between rows. Correct spacing avoids competition for light and nutrients, promoting growth and production, while spaces that are too narrow or too wide can negatively affect the quantity and quality of the fruit.
Average weight: 15 gr
Indicates the average weight of fruits harvested under normal cultivation conditions. This value may vary depending on factors such as the harvesting stage, fertilization and irrigation practices, and climatic conditions. In the first harvests, the weight may be lower than the indicated values. Furthermore, conditions such as drought, water scarcity, thermal shock, poor or excessive nitrogen fertilization influence fruit growth, which may be above or below expectations.
