Description

Asparagus stems ready to plant Classic Green Variety .

Historic French variety called "Argentuil precocious" suitable, as its name indicates, for the production of early green asparagus.
Characterized by medium-large shoots, it is the most well-known and used in all of Italy, the color can have slightly different shades based on the variety used. The edible part is abundant and buttery with a low presence of fibrousness. Once cooked, it has delicate aromas that recall vegetal scents and aromas of wild flowers that we also perceive in the taste. Very good in the kitchen for the preparation of omelettes, soups, first courses and risottos.

The package contains 10 paws.

How to Grow Green, Purple and Wild Asparagus

Prepare an inverted trapezoidal furrow 15-20 cm deep, 30 cm wide at the base and 40 cm at the top, well-drained and well-fertilized with organic matter.

The optimal transplanting period is from November to April. The crowns should be placed in a single row at the bottom of the furrow, spaced 30 cm apart (3 crowns per linear meter), making sure to spread the roots horizontally and immediately cover them with 5 cm of soil.

The distance between rows varies from 100 to 20 cm. At the end of the 1st year of planting, cover with an additional 5 cm; it is recommended to harvest 2-3 asparagus spears per plant (this promotes the strengthening of the asparagus bed).

After harvesting (late spring-early summer), allow the foliage to develop and fertilize during the summer with nitrogen and potassium fertilizers. In autumn, when the foliage
has yellowed, cut it back to ground level and fertilize with mature manure or similar. During cultivation, keep the asparagus bed free of weeds.

Weeding should be very shallow. Irrigate during dry periods.
