The Pomodoro Piennolo Vesuviano is an ancient specialty that enhances its organoleptic qualities when grown on the slopes of Vesuvius. The oval berries, with slight ribbing, have a pointed and pronounced apex and thick skin.
The storage method, tied and hung "al piennolo," earned it its famous name. Storage "al piennolo," in airy environments, makes it possible to consume the cherry tomatoes until late winter.
For winter storage, the bunches are harvested when at least 70% of the tomatoes are ripe and the last ones at the tip are maturing.
The Piennolo del Vesuvio can be used for both irrigated and dry cultivation.
The grafted plant is resistant to many important root diseases.
