The ecological Asian stink bug trap is designed for monitoring brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) populations in both professional and amateur orchards. It allows you to:

• Evaluate the pressure exercised by this parasite.
• Take appropriate measures for its control.

The kit contains:

• 1 brown marmorated stink bug trap.
• 2 pheromone capsules:
  • 1 capsule of sex pheromone 75 mg.
  • 1 capsule of aggregation pheromone.

The combined use of both pheromones in the same trap increases its effectiveness tenfold (see graph).

Placement date:

• Mediterranean areas: from mid-May to mid-September.
• Less Mediterranean areas: from the end of May to the end of September.

Number of traps to place:

• Gardens: 1-3 traps per 100 square meters.
• Orchards: 1 trap every 3,000-5,000 square meters.

Position:

• Place traps preferably on the perimeter of the orchard or garden.
• This helps limit the damage caused by stink bugs to fruits near the traps (within a radius of 10-20 meters).

Stability:

• To make the trap more stable against the wind, pour about 10 cl of water into the piège.
• Sprinkler irrigation does not alter its effectiveness (the water evaporates according to the ambient temperature).

Advice:

• Replace pheromone capsules every 6-8 weeks.
• Check traps regularly and empty them if necessary.
• Traps can be used in combination with other control methods, such as biological control or insecticide.
