Description
Description
Sowing in open ground: From February to July Before sowing, work the soil thoroughly by breaking it up and levelling it. Remove any weeds. Sow by broadcast in the open field, burying lightly.
Thinning: 20 days after sowing When the seedlings emerge, thin out slightly in places where they are too dense. Harvest: 30-40 days after sowing
The young leaves can be cut and used like those of cutting salads; if left to ripen, they are used for minestrone and soups.
The particular taste of these brassicas and their high content of vitamins A and C make them a highly healthy food.
