They are kidney-shaped legumes and are green/brown in colour.

Directions for use (preparation and use):
Ideal for side dishes. Excellent when paired with bitter vegetables such as chicory.
Preparation method:
After having washed the beans thoroughly, soak them in cold water for 4/6 hours. Replace the water and put them on the stove, preferably in a clay pot. Bring to the boil and continue cooking over low heat for about 90 minutes. In a pressure cooker, about 30 minutes from the start of the whistle are sufficient. Add salt towards the end of cooking. Cooking times are indicative as they may vary depending on the variety and origin of the product and the type of preparation you want to obtain.
Advice:
They are not recommended for those who suffer from favism, a rare hereditary disease characterized by extreme sensitivity to broad beans; in these people, a substance present in the legume causes the rapid destruction of red blood cells, leading the individual to a serious type of anemia.
